Aranton is a beautifully renovated farmhouse set in five acres of grounds with superb views. It makes a fantastic holiday home for large groups, and an idyllic venue for weddings and special celebrations. A large pool, spacious summer salon and sweeping views make this location pure bliss. Book the farmhouse and the lodge together for a large family gathering.

Spanning the main farmhouse and the one-story lodge are bedrooms that can sleep 16, making Aranton the perfect place for a Gascony family holiday. The internal renovations were finished in 2009, and the landscaping has now been completed with a beautiful old lime tree and an Italianate garden at the front of the house.

The large pool with a panoramic view, a games room with ping pong, and a tennis court are some of the pristine new additions to the estate.

Aranton Farmhouse

The main house has recently been completely restored and sleeps twelve in two separate wings. The generous downstairs space includes a magnificent summer salon with mezzanine balcony which opens onto the swimming pool.

The fully fitted kitchen is light and spacious and features a gorgeous range cooker, plenty of work space, a dishwasher, and an American Fridge. The large dining room has a wood burning fire, and pine table and chairs. The substantial sitting room offers cosy sofas and an open fire, while the impressive summer salon is well equipped with table tennis, a pool table and table football.


The well-executed mix of old and new continues into the bedrooms, which are share between two wings. They are nicely proportioned and unobtrusive. One has armchairs in front of a fireplace, and others have their original wooden floors. All of the bedrooms have white walls and lots of natural light.

The large master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. There are three bedrooms with twin beds and a wash basin that share a bathroom, One bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite shower, and two large bedrooms with a double bed, a wash basin and access to a downstairs bathroom, which is also used for the swimming pool.


The lodge is a barn conversion located just below the pool, a few a steps from the main house. From the terrace there are splendid views, with the Pyrenees visible in certain conditions.

The lodge features a fully fitted kitchen in an open plan dining/sitting area, one twin bedroom with ensuite shower, and one double bedroom with ensuite shower. The Lodge has underfloor heating to ensure a comfortable stay.


The house is set in five acres of landscaped grounds with a garden at the front. There is a large swimming pool, conveniently located just outside the summer salon with spectacular views to the south and west. For safety, the pool is protected by an electric cover. Just up from this is our newly installed all-weather tennis court which provides hours of entertainment for young and old alike.

There is also plenty of garden furniture to allow you to soak up the sun, and a barbecue area with gas fired barbecue and lovely views.

Other facilities

Aranton Farmhouse is suitable for people of all ages, and has at least one bedroom & bathroom which is accessible for wheelchairs, and a downstairs toilet.

There is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and the property has oil fired central heating as well as an open fire and wood burner.

UK television is available, as is wireless broadband internet, mobile reception and a landline telephone.

Area description

Aranton Farmhouse makes a superb base to explore the beautiful Gascony countryside, and the old bastide towns which are abundant in the area.

Gascony is a food lovers delight, and the region is renowned for its produce, particularly foie gras and speciality duck dishes. Aranton is located in the main region for Armagnac, and there are plenty of opportunities for wine and Armagnac tasting at excellent local vineyards.

Guests will find fantastic walking opportunities in the beautiful countryside around the farmhouse, and there are many old bastide villages to explore. Larressingle, Fourcès, Montréal and Condom are all close by. For those who wish to enjoy more sporting pursuits, golf, tennis, horse-riding, pelote (a traditional Basque racket game) and fishing are all within easy reach.

The local area is rich in chateaux, antique fairs, and jazz and classical music, and there are a variety of local fêtes in the summer months. All the main services are less than ten minutes by car, while Bordeaux and the Pyrenees are about two hours' drive.
