Description

This private traditional "Perigourdine" country house with private pool and panoramic views over the medieval town of Sarlat, is in a unique location a short distance from the medieval town centre of Sarlat. La Sarladaise offers that perfect little haven of peace and tranquillity in a grand setting.

Approached via it's own private drive and gated entrance there is ample private parking, grounds and gardens surround the house with panoramic views over the town below. There is a private terrace, pool side terrace and private pool.

Local shops and supermarkets are a few minutes walk away.

Downstairs
The large open plan living room is full of traditional character with quality décor and furnishings, from the pictures and tapestry to the magnificent chateau stone fireplace. Here you can relax and unwind in comfortable surroundings.

The modern fitted kitchen is well equipped where you can lay your table and enjoy a meal.


Upstairs
The superb master bedroom suite has hand made carved king sized bed, television, dressing room and curved stairs leading majestically to double stained glass doors and beyond to the very big en-suite bathroom.

The Egyptian themed Luxor Room has a double bed.
The Tower bedroom has a double and single bed
The second double bedroom and the triple bedroom have fine views over the town of Sarlat.

There is also a single bedroom.

Outside
The lounge leads out through French doors to the landscaped gardens, private terrace, BBQ and private pool.

Area description

This private country house is in a unique location a short distance from the medieval town centre of Sarlat.

From the country house it is just a short walk down the hill into the centre of Sarlat with it's many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Everything is nearby so you can leave the car behind with no cares about driving, parking or having a drink with dinner.

Situated between the rivers Dordogne and Verere, Sarlat is a medieval market town and capital of the Perigord Noir. Stroll along the paved lanes of the old town or sample the Perigordian gastronomy, amongst the finest France has to offer. Take in the hustle and bustle, the smells and noise of the market, sit at one of the cafes and watch the world go by.

Sarlat has something for everyone and is a perfect base from which to set off and explore the sites and surrounding countryside. Steeped in history and pre-history, counting the world famous site of Lascaux within easy reach. From the dawn of time man has left his mark in what must surely be described as one of the most beautiful parts of France. From cave dwellings to fairy tale castles the views and scenery are breath taking.

You can enjoy eating in, dining al-fresco or choose one of the local and inexpensive restaurants.For that special gourmet meal why not try La Belle Etoile a short drive away next to the River Dordogne at La Roque Gageac. Here you may enjoy a wonderful meal in lovely surroundings and at a very reasonable price. The Perigord is renowned for it's gastronomy and is the best value for money in the whole of France.

La Sarladaise is perfectly placed for you to enjoy everything the town has to offer. Enjoy the simple pleasure of strolling around the town, visiting one of the beautiful riverside villages or for the more energetic try canoeing. The climate is agreeable and the pace of life is slow and calm.
